A healthier alternative to traditional dinner rolls, these whole-wheat yogurt rolls are soft, flavorful, and packed with wholesome ingredients. Enjoy them as a side dish, or slice them open for sliders!
Ingredients
- 2 cups of whole-wheat flour
- 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole-wheat flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir well to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Add the Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup, and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix them together until a dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Lightly flour a clean surface and knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, you can add a little more flour as needed.
- Shape the Rolls: Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape them into rolls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the Rolls: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the rolls to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving. Enjoy them warm or at room temperature.
