Ingredients

  • 1 lb of broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon of low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Broccoli: Rinse the broccoli florets under cold water and pat dry. Cut them into bite-sized pieces if needed.
  2. Steam the Broccoli: Fill a pot with a couple of inches of water and bring it to a boil. Place a steamer basket over the boiling water and add the broccoli. Cover and steam for about 4-5 minutes or until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp.
  3. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Add the steamed broccoli to the skillet, followed by the sesame oil, soy sauce, and sesame seeds. Stir well to ensure the broccoli is well coated with the seasonings.
  5. Season and Serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste. If you like a bit of spice, add a pinch of red pepper flakes. Serve immediately and enjoy!
