Blackberry Lassi

Lassi is a traditional yogurt-based drink originating from India, and adding blackberries gives it a delightful twist. This refreshing beverage is perfect for a hot day and packed with antioxidants and probiotics.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of fresh blackberries
  • 1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cardamom
  • A pinch of salt
  • Ice cubes (optional, for a chilled lassi)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Blackberries
    Rinse the blackberries thoroughly under cold water and drain them well.
  2. Blend the Ingredients
    In a blender, combine the blackberries, yogurt, milk, honey or maple syrup, ground cardamom, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth.
  3. Strain (Optional)
    If you prefer a smoother texture, you can strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove the blackberry seeds.
  4. Serve
    Pour the lassi into glasses over ice cubes if desired.
  5. Garnish
    Optionally, garnish with a few whole blackberries or a sprinkle of cardamom on top for an extra touch.
